Nostra Storia Our History

Our history began, without realizing it, at the end of the eighties, a period in which the Italian technical, historical and motoristic heritage was rediscovered and which saw the birth of famous clubs and industry events. In those years we used to meet to "remove the cobwebs from the engines" - with our vintage cars and motorcycles - and retrace our footsteps of the Apennines (Futa, Raticosa, Giogo etc.) those historical circuits that saw the birth of today's motorcycling and international motoring.
The participation in rallies organized by other clubs invaded the idea of trying to make one too, so that in the year 2000, in conjunction with the restoration of the "Fiera di Cavallina", the three of us (from left Adriano Martinelli Fagiani, Florio Giannelli and Enrico Grazzini) we decided to include in those celebrations a static exhibition of vintage vehicles.
On that occasion we managed to bring only our vehicles to Piazza Ughi-di Cavallina.
We immediately received a great appreciation from the public, (passionate or not); and from there the idea of planning an event of this kind every year and to create a partnership for lovers and fans of vintage vehicles.
Many names were thought to name the club, but Adriano, like a candle burst in a cylinder, exclaimed "... eeh, svarvolati mugellani? ... with the r "? And the name had been found.
For the first years, vintage cars and motorcycles have been united in a single event, always within the "Annual Fair of Cavallina" at the end of August, subsequently supported by the Fraction Committee, Pro-Loco and by the Municipality of Barberino di Mugello and also helped by the great adhesion and participation of new friends and clubs from outside the borders of our region, took the idea of doing two distinct events for motorcycles and cars, as it is happening today. We had another slobber when we came up with the idea of organizing an exchange exhibition. Unique exhibition for the place where it is held and until today the fifth edition with a continuous increase exponential of exhibitors and visitors (for fans a real trade show with more than 140 exhibitors specialists in the field and for the less passionate a large green area available as the Park of Lake Bilancino).
All our events are sponsored by the Presidency of the Council of the Tuscany Region, the Province of Florence, the Municipality of Barberino di Mugello and Bilancino SpA.
The consensus, sweaty and appreciated, has encouraged us to promote new and more interesting programs to be presented to all the friends who feel a bit of flurry.
Since January 2006 we have officially established the non-profit Club (non-profit) called "Svarvolati Mugellani ®", with registered deed, statute and board of directors.
The last new commitment, in chronological order but not in importance, was the 5th Exchange Show held inside the Mugello International Circuit, and sponsored by them, on 21-22 November 2009. with the exhibitors positioned inside and outside the paddocks. On the side of the exchange exhibition we created a special static Fiat car show from the 35 '/ 40' to the 70 '. Apex of the Exchange Exhibition, not only for the commercial interest, was the inclusion on the second day of the exhibition of the first "500 day". The participants of this special gathering were able to breathe, for the whole day on Sunday, that air of sportiness and breathtaking thrill that only the temple of speed like "i 'Mugello" can offer. We also had the opportunity to proudly show creatures to those who sigh and admire them as we pass by. In the Mugellino circuit (go-kart and motard track, the same in the form of the original circuit, but on a reduced scale) we were able to perform a small special test that pushed many of us to show what these cars still know how to do .
A special thanks goes to all the friends of the club, who with passion and sacrifice, care and dedication, firmness and tenacity have contributed to the realization of this wonderful dream.
If you want to know many other things about the club, ... join people, gooooo !!!
